ATL Cigar Co. is a company based in Atlanta that was founded in 2020 by Leroy Lamar III, Peter Gross, and Janelle Lamar. They have released four different cigar lines and have undergone some significant changes as of late in the form of falling under the Luciano family blanket.
This was ATL’s first PCA under the umbrella of Luciano, but it wasn’t quite their first rodeo. Sitting down with Lamar Leroy, co-founder of ATL Cigar CO, we had the opportunity to hear how ATL was born, where their focus comes from and what drives the three founders of ATL to push into the top tier Premium Cigar market.
What started out of a Sunday evening, “Hot dogs and prayer,” has blossomed into four blends that cross cultures, break barriers and pay respect to influences of the founders’ daily lives.
- Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Rosado HVA
- Binder: Ecuadorian Connecticut
- Filler: Three Nicaraguan regions
Wise Blood is a smoking experience that takes its name from a novel by Flannery O’Connor. It promotes reflection, attention to detail, and an appreciation for a well-balanced blend.
- Wrapper: Mexican San Andreas
- Binder: Pueblo Nuevo
- Filler: Pueblo Nuevo, Esteli & Jalapa
The ATL Magic is a unique and complex cigar created in partnership with Master Blender Luciano Mereilles. Produced at the Luciano Cigars factory in Estelí, it features flavor notes from tobacco grown in the hidden Pueblo Nuevo region of Nicaragua, complemented by a San Andrés wrapper. This medium-plus blend celebrates the passion and mystery of Atlanta.
- Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
- Binder: Indonesian & Omatepe
- Filler: Condega, Jalapa & Esteli
The blend “Good Trouble” is a tribute to Atlanta’s adopted son, John Lewis. It features a complex blend of Nicaraguan filler from three regions, along with Indonesian Sumatra and Ometepe priming. This combination produces a flavorful and accessible cigar with a clean finish.
- Wrapper: San Andreas Maduro
- Filler: Masaya
- Binder: Esteli ASP, Jalapa & Pueblo Nuevo
The ATL Black is an enhanced version of the original cigar, featuring a full-bodied Maduro blend with a Mexican San Andres wrapper. It delivers a robust flavor without any bitterness commonly found in other full-bodied cigars.
