Back-to-back cigar’s of the year for Chief, Foundation Cigar Company was on a hot list of interview suspects when we got the green light for this years Premium Cigar Association. The Olmec, Senetjer, Menelik and Havana Seed Tabernacle all top tier, dare I say “elite,” cigar blends filled us with anticipation as to this years releases out of Nicholas’ master blender brain.

Metapa, which means “place of magueys”, is a name derived from the Nahuatl’s. Maguey plants hold cultural and religious significance in Central American mythology and art. Metapa is now called Ciudad Darío, named in honor of the poet Dario, who often referenced maguey in his work.

Charter Oak Especiales (Pegnataro & Pasquale)
